In this blog, we have discussed the raga of film songs (Tamil). In future we will try to add other languages too.
You may have a question.."there are already many websites, wikipedia etc., who have given the raga of songs and what is the purpose of this blog.". We checked many sites who have give the raga of songs approximately and not 100% correct. Also some songs are in multiple ragas, and if people listen to these songs and understand ragas, their understanding won't be perfect. Hence we have initiated this blog, where we will explain the ragas of songs in detail, so that viewers/listerns can have a clear knowledge on ragas.
Films songs can be classified under 4 categories, with regard to the raga in the songs :
Category 1. Songs in a sngle raga with no deviation.
Category 2. Songs in one raga with a small deviation in one or two lines.
Category 3. Songs with pallavi in one raga and charanam in another raga.
Category 4. Songs based on a raga, but with a lot of deviations.
